EduFlow Learning Research
Foundational research to redesign the learning experience on an adaptive EdTech platform.
Overview
EduFlow serves 200 000 K-12 students across India. The platform had strong content but poor engagement. We were asked to understand why learners dropped off and what an ideal adaptive learning experience should feel like.
Process
Ethnographic home visits with 10 students, 6 teacher interviews, and a comparative study of 5 adaptive platforms. The central finding: students didn't distrust the platform ??? they distrusted themselves when it felt hard.
Outcome
Research directly informed a new "struggle state" UI pattern that reduced session dropout by 29% in A/B tests on a pilot cohort of 4 000 students.
