The Challenge

Finova, a neobank for first-time investors, was building its product without a unified visual language. Each sprint shipped screens that looked like they came from three different products.

My Approach

I built the design language from scratch: a semantic colour system (trust, alert, growth), a neutral typography scale, two icon families and a motion principles guide. Every decision was documented with reasoning ??? not just rules ??? so the team could make decisions independently.

The Impact

The design language became the foundation for the entire product. Engineering adopted the colour tokens directly from Figma variables, cutting design-to-code translation time by 70%. Onboarding time for new designers dropped from two weeks to two days.
